Do you wish that Summer Camp would never end? This is for the quilter who is ready for sewing prompts to spur memories, and grow creativity while sewing blocks for your travel quilt.

Recreate Creatively started out as monthly prompts with fresh creativity and ideas, but the feedback was resounding: the preference was to have it run at the same time as Camps. This is no longer a subscription, it is a product with a one time payment.

This summer, we have added an optional challenge: the Thrift Store Challenge. You’ll make blocks using only fabric you found in a thrift store, or buy nothing group. This will help new sewers see that they don’t need lots of fabric, and help seasoned quilters gain new levels of creativity.

Recreate Creatively runs from May 27, 2024 – Sept 2, 2024.

– If you are motivated by prizes, there are prizes for completing blocks.
– You may also submit edited blocks for prizes.
– Encouraging group of National Park loving quilters (just like you) to help grow your creativity. You’ll be encouraged by their comments, and the ideas they have.
– Grow your creativity. Each prompt is thoughtfully designed to help you grow your creativity, while making a quilt to commemorate your memories and milestones.

Recreate Creatively is for National Park quilters who have participated in 1 Summer and 1 Winter Camp. The prompts are deeper and geared to grow your creativity. If you are just starting out on your NP quilting journey, I invite you to start with Summer Camp.

FAQ’s

Can I submit edited blocks?  Yes!!! This has been the biggest request for Summer and Winter Camp.

What is the difference between Camps and Recreate Creatively? There will be changes coming to the Camps, and will be only for new sewers and quilters (those who have never participated with a Fiona Sandwich Camp). We discovered that seasoned Campers wanted more creative expression and new Campers were daunted by some of the prompts that are exciting to seasoned campers.

Are these prompts beginner friendly? They are not hard or impossible, but they are designed to help you grow your creativity, and spur memories from your travels. If you have participated in a Summer or Winter Camp, you are ready for Recreate Creatively!

How long do I have to complete the prompts? All blocks must be sewn between Dec 1 and Feb 29. You have until the second day of the following month to submit photos for prizes. I understand that it would be nice to get the prompts in advance to be able to think about them, however some people sew before the challenge starts. While it’s not ideal, it makes the challenge fair for all.

Where do I find the prompts? There is a Field Guide in your downloads, inside your Fiona Sandwich account.
If you are not able to finish the prompts, just like the patterns, the Field Guides won’t disappear. They will be in your account forever and ever. If you have troubles accessing your account or have questions, please reach out.

Do I have to use specific patterns? You may use any Fiona Sandwich illustrated pattern from the State Parks, National Parks and Condiment patterns. Patterns that are not permitted: non Fiona Sandwich patterns, Road Trip, Park Signs, or Park Stamper Pin patterns.

Are patterns included with the Monthly Sewing Adventures? The Monthly Sewing Adventures does not have any patterns included. A great way to build your pattern collection quickly is through the Monthly Pattern Club.

If you aren't able to sew the National Park Sign block in 3 tries, I will give you the Casablanca pattern for free. The National Park Sign block comes with every National Park pattern.
