With its natural range stretching from the East Coast all the way to parts of Arizona and the midwest, this iconic red bird is often sighted throughout the Eastern National Parks. This brightly colored male with his rusty female companion are favorites of birders and non-birders alike. The Cardinal family also includes the Tanagers and the pattern can be easily adapted with colors to reflect your favorites.
Create a cozy quilt, showing off all the amazing adventures you’ve had! Or create a bucket list quilt with the National Parks you want to visit.
Perfect for patch collectors: Each pattern comes with a bonus Park Sign block where you can “check off” the sites you’ve been to with a patch from each park, or embroider the names of the site.
Easy, beginner friendly patterns. Paper piecing is a great way to “sew by number” as each pattern has easy to follow directions and numbered blocks. Start with the bonus National Park sign if you are learning a new skill with paper piecing. Your blocks will turn out beautifully, it’s so much fun to watch your art unfold as you sew.

– Foundation Paper Piecing is perfect if you can’t sew a straight line to save your life, and you want to use your sewing machine.
– English Paper Piecing is best if you don’t know where your sewing machine is/don’t have one/want to sew by ‘hand’. But this isn’t like traditional needle and thread sewing.
